| Costa
del Sol |
|
Is the most famous stretch of coast of southern Spain which extends along most of the Mediterranean coast of Andalusia, from Nerja, where the Costa Tropical meets the Costa del Sol, to the most southerly point in Spain at Tarifa, where the Costa de la Luz begins. The Costa del Sol’s proverbially mild climate is mainly due to its privileged geographical position between the Mediterranean sea and the Cordillera Bética or Andalusian Mountains. This fantastic climate and scenery favour the practice of sports all year round. The coast can offer its visitors an extensive variety of sporting activities such as swimming, scuba diving, sailing, water skiing, cycling, walking, hunting, fishing, tennis, and much more. Costa del Sol is also known by many as the Costa del Golf due to its more than 40 Golf clubs surrounded with excellent housing developments where golfers of all levels and handicaps can enjoy playing a round of golf any month of the year.

de la Luz |

Costa
de la Luz is the stretch of the southern Atlantic coast of
Spain between the mouth of the river Guadiana, forming the
boundary with Portugal, and the promontory of Tarifa on the
Straits of Gibraltar. It is the coastline of the Andalusian
provinces of Huelva and Cadiz. The sandy beaches of Costa
de la Luz are much finer than that of its more popular neighbour,
Costa del Sol, and are less commercialised, yet the visitors
can find every facility he may possibly wish for. Spread along
the Coast of Light are almost endless beaches, pine trees,
fishing cottages, and lazy whitewashed villages making it
a delightful spot for family tourism. According to the experts,
the coast of the Campo de Gibraltar is the best place in Europe
for windsurfing because of its wind system and Tarifa is known
as the Mecca for European fun boarders. The wind is strong
and sustained, and the surf is characteristic of the Atlantic
with long and spaced out waves. Absolute beginners or seasoned
boarders will find a perfect spot for this sport in this area.

| Costa
Tropical |
|
The
Costa Tropical is situated between the Costa del Sol and the
Costa de Almeria. This stretch of coastline takes its name
from the sub-tropical climate which allows the cultivation
of tropical fruits such as avocadoes, mangoes, bananas and
sugar cane. The Costa Tropical has a rugged coastline with
mountains coming right down to the sea forming a series of
coves and promontories, a typical landscape of this coast.
The nice beaches and the near situation to the Sierra Nevada
in Granada makes it possible to practice a lot of sport-activities
in contact with the nature. There are three main resort towns
on the Costa Tropical - Almuñecar, La Herradura, Salobreña
and Motril.
