Vejer is totally charming and bewitching. Casa Alegre is situated inside the old town of Vejer and can only be accessed by foot. Parking is available on Avenida de los Remedios, a 4 minute walk. Casa Alegre was born from 5 original homes, centred around an Andalucian Patio. The patio area has given way to a pool (5 x 3 m) and the remaining living space comprises 3 en-suite bedrooms, living room, sittingroom with day bed, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, poolside dining terrace with BBQ, spacious halls and various terraces. It is bright, airy and remains exceptionally cool throughout the hot summers. There are unsurpassed views from the roof terrace and at times you can even see the Atlas Mountains but nearly always Tangiers. The roof is a bird watchers paradise –binoculars are supplied. The fish, fruit and vegetable market is 1 minute downhill and a 2 minute walk back, depending on how much you buy! There are bakeries on every corner. Wine deliveries can be arranged. Fabulous restaurants and tapas bars are minutes away... the walk home will help to burn off the excess calories! Every bed has been selected for comfort. All duvets and pillows are goose down, the sheets and towels are pure cotton. Cotton bath robes and hair dryers are provided too. Each bathroom has its own immersion heater for uninterrupted hot water supply. The housekeeper will visit once week while you’re there but is available more often if requested at an additional cost. The pool will be cleaned once a week. Rubbish is collected at 8pm every evening (except Saturday). Beach towels, body boards, umbrellas and mats are provided for a trip to the beach, the nearest of which is only a 10 minute drive away. We have also provided a chiller bag, plastic glasses and wine cooling sleeves for your beach drinks. There are huge comfortable sofas for relaxing and napping. No television or telephone……just an overwhelming sense of tranquillity, calm and comfort. A list of our favourite places, beaches, restaurants, wines etc can be given. |

Slotted between the sierras and the sea 10 km inland and 200m high above the gorge of the River Barbate this hill town is a beautifully preserved example of a classic Andalucian town, declared a national monument in 1978. Vejer de la Frontera is located along the Costa de la Luz, within the province of Cadiz. It is a picturesque town perched high on a limestone headland. |
